How long can I wash with my kitchen sponge before I need to dispose of it?
The lifespan of a kitchen sponge can depend on several factors such as frequency of use, level of cleaning, and quality of the sponge. Generally, it is recommended to replace your kitchen sponge every two to four weeks.
However, if you notice that your sponge is showing signs of wear and tear or has an unpleasant odour, it’s best to replace it even sooner.
Using a kitchen sponge beyond its recommended lifespan can be unhygienic and can even spread harmful bacteria.
To prolong the life of your scourer or kitchen sponge, you can spray it with our Aqua-Base
Sponge Sanitiser or Aqua-Base Surface Spray (they are the same product) after each used to kill bacteria and odours. Also, wring out excess water from the sponge and allow
them to dry in a well-ventilated area after use.
