At BARKLY BASICS, we believe that even the simplest everyday tasks can be transformed into moments of joy and inspiration. It all started with a moment of mindfulness at the kitchen sink, where a simple question sparked a revolutionary idea: "Why is my kitchen sponge yellow!?"

As a scientist by profession, I am naturally curious and a problem solver. The idea of a designer kitchen sponge became a light bulb moment for me in 2018. I embarked on a journey to create a stylish-looking sponge that I no longer needed to hide under the sink.

But the path to success was not easy. It took over 12 months to develop a sponge prototype. Finding a manufacturer overseas proved to be a challenge, as they had never used black-colored materials on their sponges before. They thought I was a little bit crazy because they couldn't understand what was wrong with the yellow sponge 🙄 But I persisted.

Finally, after overcoming numerous obstacles, I proudly launched BARKLY BASICS. Our store offers a range of eco-friendly household cleaning products that are both functional and beautiful. 

What sets us apart is our commitment to sustainability with style. All our liquid products are made in Melbourne, Australia, and are refillable, reusable, and recyclable.
